Willard, OH - Mercy Willard Hospital will offer a Safe Sitter® babysitting course this summer for girls and boys ages 11 and up on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The course will be held in the Schaffer Conference Center, Room 1, at Mercy Willard Hospital, 1100 Neal Zick Road, Willard, Ohio.
Over 500,000 adolescent babysitters have graduated from the medically-accurate program which instills students with confidence as they learn how, why and where injuries can happen so they can be prevented. Safe Sitter® prepares adolescents for the responsibilities of nurturing and protecting children.
The cost of the one day course is $40.00. To register your son, daughter, or your child’s babysitter, call (419) 964-5119 by May 29. Registration is limited.
The curriculum provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act in an emergency. Babysitters also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior and how to run their own babysitting business. They also learn basic first aid as well as how to perform infant and child choking rescue. They even learn CPR.
To graduate from the Safe Sitter® course and receive a completion card, students must pass a practical and written test that indicates their mastery of key concepts and life and safety skills.
