Mercy Children's Hospital
Mercy Children’s Hospital is dedicated to the care of children. Since we opened our doors in 1998, we've become the leading healthcare resource for children and their families in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Mercy Children’s Hospital is a unique partnership among the area's premier medical facilities, Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) and the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Mercy Children’s Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
And, because we are a regional facility, the scope of our capabilities allows us to provide the most sophisticated treatment protocols.
Based on models of state-of-the-art facilities around the country, Mercy Children’s Hospital has the full range of sophisticated facilities demanded by advanced pediatric care including:
- A 16-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with long-term seizure monitoring
- A 30-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a perinatal center. Level III is the highest designation awarded by the Ohio Department of Health to hospitals that provide care for high-risk newborns.
- A 26-bed general pediatric unit
- A Level I Trauma Center for adults and children, the highest designation awarded by the American College of Surgeons
Driven by the Mercy mission planted by the Grey Nuns and nurtured by the Grey Nuns and Sisters of Mercy for more than a century-and-a-half, Mercy Children’s is dedicated to ongoing teaching, research - and most importantly - excellence in patient care. We are committed to providing the best healthcare available for children, both within our walls and through community outreach, and serving as an advocate for children throughout our region.
