Mercy Cancer Center is pleased to announce the region's first and most advanced integrated treatment system - TomoTherapy Hi-Art®. The radiation therapy system is the third of its kind in Ohio and one of only 100 currently in use currently in the world.

Unlike traditional radiation therapies, Tomo-Therapy® provides 3-D imaging prior to each treatment to verify the location of a patient's tumor. By doing so, the risk of damaging healthy tissue or organs close to a tumor is minimized. Cancerous tumors often move between treatments and Tomo Therapy® helps address the challenge of accuracy by precisely locating the tumor immediately before each treatment.

The TomoTherapy Hi-Art® cancer treatment is currently available in the Toledo area at Mercy St. Anne Hospital.
