Visiting Hours

We understand that family and friends can be an integral part of the healing process. Because of this philosophy, we encourage family members to visit frequently and become actively engaged in the care of their loved ones. However, if you are sick or have flu-like symptoms please do not visit patients. Patients’ immune systems are weakened and they are more susceptible to catching contagious diseases from ill visitors. To help ensure your loved ones’ speedy and complete recovery by not visiting if you have any of the following symptoms:
  • fever
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • body aches
  • headaches
  • chills and fatigue
  • vomiting
While visiting please take preventive measures to ensure your and our patients’ optimal health:
  • Wash hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand cleaner
  • Avoid close contact with sick people
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
Visiting hours at the Heart & Vascular Center are "open" for most units. That means that you may visit at any time. The only exception is for those patients that have had open heart surgery and are in the CVICU. We ask that there be no visitors for these patients until noon of the day following surgery.

In cases where it is in the best interest of the patient that immediate family members stay the night, a sofa is available in each patient room.
