Kevin

Gordy

After having difficulty breathing, Gordy was tested at Mercy St. Charles Hospital and had bypass surgery in April at the Mercy Heart & Vascular Center. His surgeon, Dr. Jim Burdine performed the surgery without putting Gordy on a heart-lung machine, reducing his risk of complications and speeding his recovery. A month later, he is now looking forward to his son’s upcoming wedding.

My mom had friends who had traditional open-heart surgery. She said if that's what was going to happen to her, she wasn't going to do it.  Once she learned that robotic heart surgery uses tiny incisions so it's much easier on her,  her decision was made. She went in on Thursday and the following Tuesday she was home in Willard.
