Services - Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Mercy Children's Hospital is a 14-bed unit with state-of-the-art technology. Patients with actual or potential life-threatening conditions are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team of specially trained physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and other specially trained professionals in related disciplines. There is also a trauma team to care for pediatric trauma patients. Specially trained nurses and physicians also provide moderate and deep sedation to children undergoing painful or anxiety-producing procedures.
