Family Resource Center

The purpose of the Family Resource Center is to help pediatric patients and their families find information they need to understand and participate in their own health care. This free service is a resource for patients, parents, staff, and community members. The Family Resource Center is a link to information designed to help families deal with a hospital stay, understand their child’s illness and treatment, and to raise healthier children.

When a child is injured, diagnosed with a serious illness, or born too early, family members need information and answers to their questions. The Family Resource Center has books, videos, and other materials on a variety of topics including health care, specific illnesses and conditions, growth and development, hospital and community resources, support groups and much more. These materials are available on loan or are provided free. Computer terminals are available to use Hugs Online and to search the Internet.

The Family Resource Center is located in Mercy Children’s Hospital on the campus of Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center is at 2213 Cherry Street, Toledo, Ohio 43608. The Family Resource Center is located on the 6th floor, in the E-wing.
