How is it Treated? : Treatment Options
Treatments are much better now than they were even 10 years ago, and new treatments are being developed all the time.
The main goals of treatment are to help your child live a full, active life and to develop physically, socially, and educationally. Treatments are directed at reducing pain, maintaining full movement in the affected joints, and identifying, treating, and preventing complications.
JRA can often be managed effectively and damage to joints may be limited. Most children with JRA need medication and physical therapy to reach these goals. Use the links to the right to learn more about the various treatment options.
